We absolutely love bridal sessions, the only thing bad about them is having to wait to post them! Congratulations on your wedding Alexandra, we are now so excited to finally post your bridal session from Kindred Oaks. I hope these images captured the confidence she bestowed in front of the camera, sometimes I forgot it was a bridal session! The best images I find come when we are both having fun and I can tell you, this session was one of the most fun times I had shooting in 2016!

We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas, we know we did!

This week we will continue catching up on our amazing weddings from this fall/winter season, and THIS ONE was so much fun! We had never photographed at this venue before because its so fresh and new, BUT I am eagerly awaiting the next time we can!

Carolyn and Phillip tied the knot at Canyonwood Ridge near Austin, TX. Y’all this venue had THE most important key factor for photographers. LIGHT. Lots of beautiful, precious natural light spewed into every room. The indoor ceremony had just as much light as if it were outside (so this venue is PERFECT for winter weddings) and I fell in love with the light fixtures in the reception space.

Can I just give a special shout out to all the beautiful scarfs that acted as a seating chart!? IS THIS THE BEST IDEA OR WHAT!? Such a fun way to seat your guests and keep them warm with the evenings being a little chilly. They had dueling pianos as their evening entertainment and it was A BLAST! Check out this recap below:

Samantha and Blake tied the knot in November at Ma Maison! This venue is located is the ever-growing city of Dripping Springs, just outside of Austin, TX. With Dripping Springs being so conveniently located towards the city and offering that beautiful Texas hill country, it’s no wonder why so many of our clients are getting hitched there! We have shot quite a few weddings at Ma Maison and this is surprisingly one of the ONLY ceremonies that was held outside. Reason being, this venue is absolutely perfect for winter weddings and has the perfect set up for a “plan b” if it rains. Their grand hall is elegant and offers ample room for a ceremony if needed.

Samantha has such an elegant and classic look, I was so jealous of her beautiful red hair and blue eyes. The elegant feathers and bird cage veil complimented her to a tee! She introduced us to the amazing “chambong” which is obviously the classier sister to a beerbong haha! She took it like a champ and it was such a funny moment to capture. You couldn’t wipe the smile from her face all day, and after learning about the past 24 hours prior, I could see why. Blake was in the hospital just the night before with a horrible virus….you would NEVER know, he put on his game face like a champ and nothing was stopping him from marrying his bride.

One of the sweetest moments of the day was Samanthas dads speech just after walking her down the isle. His words came so naturally and offered so much humor, it was such a treat to hear how blessed her parents felt to welcome Blake into the family. After they said their “I Do’s” we finished up their portraits and headed to the reception where it was impeccably decorated for the evening. The china was mis-matched and I absolutely LOVE this trend and it really breaks up the monotony in the room. The tall centerpieces took your breath away and the uplighting was just….perfect. (Ahh, perfect. My most over-used but necessary verbiage.)

The Austin Party Band KILLED IT and every pair of feet hit the dance floor that night! Live bands are making a comeback and I am not complaining, they are SO much fun!

Guys we have been hogging so many good blogs to finally put together and publish now that the crazy wedding season has passed!

These two….a combination of the most chill bride and “smiley” groom (like seriously, so smiley). James and Michele had such  beautiful wedding at Mercury Hall in Austin, TX and I am so happy we could capture it.

Mercury Hall has amazing stained glass windows inside their reception hall and partnered with the original hardwood floors, luscious green grounds, it’s no wonder these two chose this venue for their September nuptials (and the weather was absolutely PERFECT.) While the girls got their hair and make up done at a near-by hotel, Michele put her dress on at the venue. If you have the choice, putting your dress on at the ceremony location (unless it be the “toddler room” at a church) is always the best option and typically has the best lighting. Mercury hall has this lovely antique chair that I love to shoot bouquets on and it totally complimented her blooms!

Their ceremony was “simple romantic chic” and was perfect for an outdoor wedding. The lace curtains really drew you into the space and put all of your attention on the couple (and it was so fun to use during their portraits after!) Y’ALL, LOOK AT JAMES’ FACE WHEN SHE IS WALKING DOWN THE ISLE…LOOK AT IT. He was completely enamored with her, and when you zoom in, you see all the happy tears. You could literally see her take his breath away, and moments like this just never get old:

My goodness! I can’t believe its November already but I am still drooling over this October wedding at Kindred Oaks just a few weeks ago! Michelle and John were such a hoot and they were both smiling and laughing ALL. DAY. LONG. To our surprise, 99% of their reception guests broke out in professional ballroom style dancing and we watched in awe as we got our own personal “Dancing With the Stars” show. We got the opportunity to vlog this wedding so check out how this day went down from our point of view! I am going to let the video speak for itself, just know that these two had an apple cider bar that still has me dreaming…

Shout out to these amazing artists and vendors for making this day complete:
