At every consultation with a new client I try to express just how important an engagement session is. Not only is it the only professional photos you will probably have done while you engaged ( and to most couples the only professional photos they have of them together ) it is a great way for the couple to work with us before the day of the wedding. It can be so stressful having your photo taken and on the day of the wedding you want to feel so comfortable you forget we are photographers! Sessions like this justify all of my beliefs, that having an engagement session before can really help calm nerves on the wedding day.
“I am not good at taking pictures” is something I hear from almost every single one of our Grooms. I get it, I hate having my photo taken too ( Travis might disagree ) but most of the time it’s not having your photo taken that is the bad part but how you feel while having your photo taken. Thats where we step in and do our thing, if we do it right you feel like we aren’t some photographer you found because you are getting married but someone you have known for a long time who is invested into your relationship. Alex and Rachel are getting married this coming April and I can tell you for sure we are going to have a great time with these two! See you both soon!
Danielle & Michael had such a beautiful wedding last spring at the Texas Federation of Women’s Club Mansion! Their bridesmaids were so much fun and the day truly was easy going and classic. Danielles shoes were SO PERFECT and they definitely topped the list for my favorite flats I saw last year, not to mention that they matched her blooms just perfectly. The reception space is just so stunning and uplighting the room completely transforms this space and Andrew with Made From Skratch weddings did such a wonderful job! This venue had the perfect indoor option (because lets be honest, Texas summers can be pretty brutal) for their 100 guests and I HAVE to mention their cocktail hour…LOOK AT THAT SPREAD. These two had their first dance to a Smashing Pumpkins song and ended the evening with every single guest singing their brains out to “Bohemian Rhapsody” to end the evening. Yes, these two are as perfect for each other like grilled cheese & tomato bisque (again…best cocktail spread EVER.) and we were so happy to capture it.

Nina and I have been in Austin for almost our whole lives! Well, she was born and raised here and I “came as quick as I could” when I was 10 but I feel like I’ve grown up here. This place is our home and as it has grown we have seen more and more brides coming from out of town! I remember when Austin only got busy during SXSW but now it seems like there is some festival every weekend and its popularity has skyrocketed! Seriously cranes have become a part of the Austin skyline, and out of town clientele has become a huge part of our business. Erica and Alex came all the way from Washington D.C for the bluebonnets and their session couldn’t have been better. With crisp sunny skies and a very blossoming bluebonnet season, everything was in place to create this beautiful session:
Emily and Eriks engagement session took place last February at Mayfield park. I loved the variety of outfits they chose (I mean THAT HAT *swoon*).
These two already tied the knot and their wedding will definitely be blogged soon. We had such a blast and Emily was so beautiful, we can’t wait to share. Until then, check out these spring engagements as we hope for some warmer weather!
Can you guys believe 2017 is long gone?! This year has completely gotten away from us. Our little business nugget was busy and thriving (no complaints here!) but our personal lives were so swamped, this blog of ours didn’t get much lovin’. We plan on posting some LONG overdue weddings from last year, and what better way to kick off 2018 with our first wedding of 2017? It’s crazy to see how consistent out style is yet how its evolved this past year.
Jenny and Jordan tied the knot almost a whole year ago at Kindred Oaks in Georgetown, TX. It’s not every day that there is a kidney cake, and I thought it was just an inside joke at first! Turns out, Jordan was diagnosed with IGA Nephropathy just a year before their wedding and underwent a kidney transplant (his dad was his living donor!!) six months before their wedding day! You would never know… he was healthy and in good spirits and they couldn’t wait to start their life together as husband and wife after such a dramatic health scare. After peaking at these photos again, I want to start forcing some more emerald green bridesmaid dresses and engraved gold flasks…
