This beautiful wedding took place at Vista West Ranch in Austin, TX. This venue is absolutely stunning and perfect for those that want an elegant and rustic feel. Lanterns adorn the beautiful trees and native wild flowers are still in bloom, but I must say that the reception decor of this modern barn-like structure takes the cake! The hanging balls of lights and dried babies breath that cascades from the main entrance is STUNNING. This duo chose Austin for their destination wedding and we are having more and more clients following suit. It’s so crazy to think that this great little city of ours has love birds flying from all over to experience the Austin goodness for their special day!
Lauren and Kevin had so many special touches that didn’t go unnoticed! Kevin had the most killer cuff links, gifted to him from his grandfather, and all four of his brothers were in his wedding party. Lauren’s niece was the most special flower girl, and you can see her just completely enamored with her aunt when she is putting on her dress below. She took her job SERIOUSLY and she was an amazing big sister to the precious ring bearer. I think its super important to get portraits of the flower girl and ring bearer, separately from the rest of the bridal party, and use the time after the ceremony (when Travis is doing formal family portraits) to do so. This sweet little duo knew how to work the camera!
Kevin and Lauren met down the isle, and you could tell that she took his breath away. It’s always cool to me that you can see the exact moment a nervous groom takes a giant sigh of relief, the second he locks eyes with his soon to be wife…and this was true for Kevin. They had a short and sweet ceremony and kept their photo list to a minimum because these two were ready to party!
The cocktail hour had some killer munchies and it was hilarious to see guests (predominately from Chicago) ask questions about the BBQ, ha! Vista West Ranch has a cool set up that has the perfect outdoor area for cocktail hour while the guests are awaiting the reception. Once the party started, I must say…his brothers gave some of the best speeches to date. They were absolutely hilarious and the groom was in tears from a combination of laughter and memories. I feel like toasts really give you a sense of who these people were before they met and usually give insight on how they came to be one. You learn about their past and present all in a matter of minutes, and this was true for these two. They had a table of sweets for desserts, everything from cake balls to banana pudding and even had a s’mores bar outside! Their favors were so perfect…scratch off lottery tickets….which totally complimented the grooms moment of glory when he decided to have a concert of his own, ha! Their band was amazing and everyone in attendance had a blast. Below is a recap of their special day:
